Celebrating our Church Anniversary

This Sunday marks TOC's anniversary. Let us not just take it as just another date but remember to pray for the church as God takes us through another year of breakthrough. Lack of words? Remember the Prayer List 2011 which Pastor gave us at the beginning of the year? May God continue to be the Lord of His House and may we be His willing vessel to impact and transform lives. 

PRAYER LIST FOR YEAR 2011 – Season of Acceleration of God’s Promises.

• All of us to believe God’s Word and not struggle with doubt and unbelief.
•  All of us to Practice God’s Word by our obedience.
• All of us to experience supernatural result in our everyday life.
• All of us to be surrounded by God’s favor everyday.
• All of us to set new standards of achievement and excellence in their career and business.
• All of us to have a change in our spiritual stature as we continue to allow God to work in our lives.
• All of us to experience healing, restoration and have wholesome relationships.
• All of us to make a fresh commitment in year 2011 to love God and to serve Him in anyway needed.
• All of us to be Discipline in Quiet time and Studying of God’s Word.
• All of us to seek God First before making decisions in life.
• All of us to be Bold and Compassionate to reach the lost in our work place.
• All of us to make every effort to invite others to TOC.
• All of us to be united in one heart, mind and purpose in doing God’s will.

  

Corporate

• TOC to experience supernatural growth in 2011 for English and Bilingual Service.
• TOC to have a new building to sit a thousand people.
• TOC to be a place where miracles, signs and wonders will take place.
• TOC will be a place where people will experience both the love of God and the fear of God.

  

Pastors and Leaders

• God’s protection over Pastor, Sis Peggy and leaders and their families.
• God’s Wisdom and Counsel to be upon Pastor, Sis Peggy and leaders to lead the church.
• God’s blessings to be upon Pastor, Sis Peggy and leaders in every aspect of their lives.
• God’s anointing to increase upon Pastor, Sis Peggy and leaders to love, care and guide God’s sheep.

Faith Through Works

This year''s youth camp @ Batam: CAMP FTW (Faith Through Works) gives us an opportunity to learn practical ways in living out our faith and blessing others. People around us, our friends, family, the needy cannot read our minds or feel our hearts, they can only see experience the Faith through our actions. Read James 2:14-26 and challenge yourself to up your faith to another level so as to prepare a life of unshakeable faith! Registration closes on 15 May. Do take the opportunity to invite your friends too, it will be life transforming journey for all of us! 

Transiting in a Season of Acceleration

As I think about and pray for the TRAILblazers youths, I’ve come to notice that many are in transition mode this year which involves making a lot of important decisions in life–which Polytechnic or Junior College to enter, courses to sign up for, careers to embark on, and the list goes on.

WX and I also transiting from couple life to family life. Everyday, we find ourselves making important decisions that will affect someone else– our new baby. I find myself ever more than before in my life asking God daily on how to love and care for Nathaniel.

From the time I chose which Junior College to enter, which course in university to sign up for, which job to apply for, which ministry to serve in, etc, the following pointers have guided me in clearing my confusion, and lifted me up from discouragement and worry on whether I’ve made the right choice.

PRISM

Instead of segregating your life into different parts (school, leisure, church), have a prism view, where these different parts all converge into the spiritual. This makes decision-making easier and clearer. We’re not just Sunday Christians, God is the God of our total being. Every area of our life is spiritual.

HONOUR

Sometimes when we make certain decisions in life, we are still unclear whether it is the right decision. For me, I constantly ask myself, “Does the decision honour God?” Sometimes we are so guided by our emotions, we make decisions that will for certain hurt Him. Make sure every decision is a God honouring one by reading and obeying His word.

DESTINY

When asked the question, “What is God’s purpose for you in your life?” many of us get dumbfounded. As long as you seek God for the answer, God will give you the answer. As you mature spiritually, he will reveal it to you step by step and that will help you to make decisions that will lead you to your destiny.

COUNSEL

When going through transitions, you sometimes find yourself bombarded by advice. Some sounds good, some sincere but so wrong, and even if it is good advice, it may sound bad to you. It is important to not only seek counsel but seek counsel from the right people. Who are the right people? Best bet? Your pastor and your youth leaders.

PEACE

God has given us the Holy Spirit and the Spirit lives in us. Rely on the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and heart. Pray about the decision according to the will of God and His peace that transcends all understanding will come upon us when we make a god honouring decision.

Do share with any of your leaders if you need godly counsel, a second opinion or just a listening ear. I am always excited for those who share with me their life’s challenges because I know God is going to do a great work in them and following a challenge, always comes a wonderful testimony of thanksgiving.

Metamorphosis

A few months ago, we gave the youths a creative project to share with others what they think the TOC youth ministry is all about through a video. Here's the winning group's video :) I think it's a very straightforward representation with very good acting. The runner up's video will be up soon :P
